There are several different types of pipe that are approved for use in a potable water piping system.  Wirsbo Aquapex® and copper are the two materials generally used.  Wirsbo Aquapex® is manufactured in sizes of 1/2” to 3” and this is the material of choice.  When piping with a diameter larger than 3” is required then other types of plastic, copper or stainless steel pipe is usually used.  The BC Plumbing codes states that a third party such as Warnock-Hersey shall certify all copper, plastic and Wirsbo Aquapex® piping.
