Take your time and ask a lot of questions. There are only a few contractors specializing in repiping, therefore take the time to talk to a few contractors, obtain references and ask to visit one of their repipe projects in progress to view first hand the quality of work as well as the organization and cleanliness on the job site.

Try to ensure all of the contractors are quoting on the same materials and scope of work. Ensure that permits and engineering are a definite requirement. Verify that your prospective contractor has a minimum of 5 million dollars liability insurance and is registered and in good standing with WorkSafe BC.

It may not be a good idea to let an inexperienced contractor use your building as their first repipe project.
