PEX PIPING FOR YOUR BUILDING REPIPE

PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) is one of the most reliable materials available for repiping multi-unit residential buildings today. It’s resistant to aggressive water conditions that lead to corrosion and scaling that breaks down older copper and galvanized steel water pipe systems.  Unlike rigid pipe, PEX piping is flexible and can often be run in long, joint-free lengths, reducing the number of fittings in your building’s plumbing.

We install Uponor Wirsbo PEX piping as part of our repiping projects across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, often in combination with stainless steel and Type K copper.  This material has a manufacturer’s 25 year warranty and includes a ten year consequential damage warranty if installed properly by authorized installers, such as Cambridge.

IS PEX THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR YOUR BUILDING?

PEX piping is frequently the right fit if:

  • Your building currently has copper, galvanized steel, Poly-B, or CPVC piping nearing the end of its service life
  • You’re looking for a long-lasting material with strong resistance to corrosion and the historically acidic water conditions common in Greater Vancouver
  • Your building’s layout would benefit from flexible piping runs with fewer joints and connection points
  • You want a system designed to perform reliably for decades with minimal maintenance and that comes with a substantial warranty that even includes consequential damage.
  • Your engineer or repiping contractor has identified PEX as suitable for your building’s specific design and riser configuration.

PEX piping can now be even be used for larger diameter pipe, nearly eliminating the requirements for other types of piping materials.   We use the Uponor Wirsbo AquaPEX pipe system and are certified and authorized installers, ensuring our customers receive the benefits of the Uponor Warranty.

WHAT THE WORK INVOLVES

We handle every stage of the project: building assessment, owner education, material selection, engineering and permits, scheduling, distribution pipe and riser pipe replacement, in-suite repiping, drywall repair, and final repainting.

When PEX piping is selected, our Team installs it using proven methods suited to your building’s design, often in combination with stainless steel and Type K copper for sections where it’s the better engineered choice, or is required by code. Our experience will help you determine the right combination of materials for your property.

How We Minimize Disruption

Work is scheduled unit by unit often working in banks of suites where the risers are shared vertically.  Water shut-downs are kept as short as possible and communicated in writing well in advance. and Our crew protects floors, walls, and furnishings throughout the project.

We provide thorough clean-up each day. In nearly every case, residents can stay in their units for the entire project.

What Your Building Gains

A PEX repipe installation means consistent water pressure and service, significantly fewer leaks and maintenance calls, and a water supply system built to last for decades.

Repiping your building tends to improve insurance outcomes and adds long-lasting value to the property, making repiped strata suites and rental apartment buildings more attractive to potential property purchasers or investors in Metro Vancouver.
